Alexander Downer AC
Alexander is a Principal at Tenjin Consulting.
He is Executive Chair of the International School for Government at King’s College London.
From 2014 to 2018, Alexander was Australian High Commissioner to the UK. Prior to this, he was Australia’s longest-serving Minister for Foreign Affairs, a role he held from 1996 to 2007.
Alexander also served as Opposition Leader and leader of the Australian Liberal Party from 1994 to 1995 and was Member of the Australian Parliament for Mayo for over 20 years.
In addition to a range of other political and diplomatic roles, he was Executive Director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus, in which he worked on peace talks between Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots. He is currently Chairman of the UK think tank Policy Exchange and a trustee of the International Crisis Group.
Georgina Downer
Georgina is a Principal at Tenjin Consulting.
Georgina is a former Australian diplomat and qualified lawyer. She has worked extensively throughout Asia and the Pacific advising business, government, international NGOs and think tanks on geopolitics, and trade and export opportunities.
Fluent in Japanese, Georgina has deep experience in Asia. She served as an Australian diplomat in Japan from 2010-2014 and has worked on China, trade and international security issues at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Canberra.
Georgina was the inaugural Director of Asialink Diplomacy at the University of Melbourne and a Research Fellow at a leading Australian think tank.
In addition to her executive experience, Georgina is a Non-Executive Director of the Menzies Research Centre and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
